    Our chefs have created a collection of elegant Italian dishes with a festive twist, using the finest seasonal ingredients.   4. How La Terrazza Began

    La Terrazza is built on the vision of Head Chef Raffaele Lauriola. He wanted to bring the flavours and ethos of Italian cooking to the UK, with a contemporary twist. A focus on fresh ingredients and traditional staples is at the heart of everything we do, but we have also created a unique Italian tapas style of dining.

    La Terrazza first opened in 2013 as part of the Hotel Xenia, providing a casual Italian dining experience for hotel guests and members of the public alike. The combination of main dishes with smaller Italian tapas style plates allows our guests to sample a range of delicious flavours and enjoy our food at their leisure. This relaxed atmosphere is enhanced by the bright, colourful decor that is a world away from the overly formal vibe you expect in fine dining establishments. Italian dining is not just about the food, it’s about spending long afternoons with friends and family, socialising and sharing in a culinary experience. . Our Italian menu offer a wide selection of flavours, dished and wines from several Italian regions helps bringing all day experiences from Breakfast, lunch, afternoon teas, Dinner to the very Traditional Aperitivo to the heart of Kensington.

    Since opening the main restaurant, we have expanded to create the Conservatory area. This is the perfect space for lunchtime diners working in the Kensington area or those looking for a nice spot to enjoy a glass of wine and some delicious charcuterie on a summer afternoon.

    Although he has created a contemporary Italian tapas twist on many classics, Raffaele still stays true to the core principles of Italian cooking and there are plenty of old favourites you will recognise on the menu. All of the dishes are created using the highest quality ingredients so, even though we are focused on building a relaxed dining experience, the food is still the star of the show.

    La Terrazza restaurant really is the jewel in Kensington’s crown. Serving continental and cooked to order breakfasts, authentic Italian lunches, indulgent afternoon teas, aperitivo on the terrace and a seasonal all day menu. The kitchen is open from 7am – 10.30pm daily, and is rightly regarded as one of the best Kensington restaurants for Italian food.

    Out of all the Kensington restaurants, La Terrazza is the most beautiful, bright and casual space. Situated on the ground floor of Hotel Xenia, Autograph Collection open to the public and in-house guests. With comfortable colourful chairs set against the custom made Fornasetti wallpaper, the restaurant creates a relaxing space to savour delicious dishes over a long, relaxing afternoon or evening in the heart of Kensington.

    Afternoon tea at La Terrazza is served on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays from 2-5pm and must be pre-booked. Also, it is a perfect respite serving for those exploring West London and the fantastic array of museums and galleries on the restaurant’s doorstep including the Design Museum, Natural History Museum and V&A Museum.

    With lights dimmed and tables are redressed for dinner service, La Terrazza comes into its own as a romantic setting for a dinner date or pre-theatre dinner before heading to a performance at The Royal Albert Hall nearby. Additionally, with an extensive wine list from the on-site cellar, diners can explore a plethora of Italian wines by the bottle or glass. The collection includes fantastic labels from artisan and organic vineyards.

    Above all, La Terrazza holds three private spaces which are available for exclusive hire and can seat up to 45 guests for buffet or seated three course meal dining and networking standing receptions for up to 70 guests.

    La Terrazza’s Terrace and Conservatory is an Italian restaurant in Kensington with beautiful terrace. La Terrazza starts the day serving breakfast in the Conservatory. Our delicious and varied buffet breakfast including continental cheeses and meats, freshly baked croissants and pastries and a mouth-watering selection of fruits and juices available for £24.50 per person, with a choice of fresh coffee or tea. Our fresh, cooked to order breakfast menu which offers a choice of eggs and pancakes and is available from 6.30am – 11am Monday – Friday and 7am – 11am Saturday and Sunday including bank holidays.

    La Terrazza and conservatory is an Italian restaurant based in the heart of Kensington on Cromwell Road. It has a separate entrance with access to the bright, spacious and airy conservatory and terrace, serving breakfast from 7am until 11am .
